Wide Minds, or WiMi, is a Comenius Network, funded by the European Commission from 2008 - 2011. WiMi has partners based in public authorities, teacher training institutes, and universities in 14 different countries, as well as 7 partner schools and 2 associate partners. The network is big enough to have a considerable impact and yet small enough to sit round a table and arrive at decisions democratically.
Through our conferences, in-service training courses and our support structures, the network acts as a forum for innovation and best practice in digital learning. We aim to provide educational professionals with the training and support mechanisms necessary to develop eLearning and multilingualism in the exciting context of international projects.

WiMi scores 90% & high praise from the European Commission

Following the submission of its Final Report to the EACEA in November, 2011, the WiMi network was recently congratulated on gaining the excellent score of 90%. The strengths of the network were seen as being the management of the project, the strong collaboration and communication between the partners, the Comenius Multilateral School partnerships engendered, the training manuals created, and WiMi Moodle.  It was stated that teachers had been empowered regarding the use of ICT, "being more willing and feeling more comfortable experimenting with ICT..." The network had also reached out to many more beneficiaries than originally envisaged.
