Last term we sent out details of a competition to all schools in WiMi’s partner regions, asking pupils to design a new logo for our network.
Very many entries were brought to our meeting in Poland and it was a very difficult job choosing between them. There were many excellent designs from pupils in Turkey, as well as some exquisite hand drawn submissions from Italy. Primary school pupils from France, Ireland and Wales sent in colourful contributions full of images depicting intercultural friendship and communication. A big thank you to all the pupils and their teachers who sent in entries.
Fittingly it was a school student from Poland Daria Rucińska where we held our first network conference who won the contest.
Daria explains that she used two embracing persons for the logo: a black one and a white one. She wanted to show that cooperation is possible even if there are many differences between the partners.
A digital photo frame will soon be on its way to the winning school. We are now in the process of having the logo adapted and digitalised so that it can be used on all WiMi communications.
